"Stepping Stones Of Light"

When the sun first rose and lit the bottom of the cloud layer during what began as a pre-dawn flight, I knew there was going to be quite a show, but had no idea how great it was to be. Typically one sees the glorious hues play out on the bottom of clouds during sunsets or sunrises. When the sun rose above the cloud layer and started to shoot its rays all around and through the clouds, the show turned spectacular. The light piercing the clouds formed what appeared as "stepping stones" on the surface of Lake Michigan. It was a "goosebump" moment watching all this unfold, and to be able to capture it was true fortune.
